Homemark and my Fresh Water Pearls

I really didn't want to post this up, but unfortunately I don't want other people to fall for the same thing I did.

A while back I purchased a box set from Homemark, the "Jewellery Beading Kit with more than 4000 pieces".

I was quite excited to see the kit included 80 fresh water pearls as I adore pearls! Unfortunately after unpacking my kit and checking whether I received everything stated on the back of the box, I noticed that I only received 21 of those 80 fresh water pearls (59 outstanding).

I proceeded to email Homemark because I didn't pay for something to only receive a portion of it. My email was received and she asked for my contact details which I sent. I never heard from them again.

A week later I emailed them AGAIN, and she asked for the same thing, which i sent through AGAIN. This time, they did phone back and I was EXTREMELY happy about that.

She sorted out my problem quick quick and said that the warehouse would have to send me my pearls. Initially the warehouse was out of stock but she said that as soon as they received stock, she would get my package ready for sending. I didn't hear back for about a month and when I did she phoned to say that my package is ready for sending.

After some time, this is the "pearls" I received:

Beads received from Homemark - purple glass beads instead of fresh water pearls. 29 beads instead of 59

I have arranged the beads in rows of 5 so you can count for yourself the 29 beads I received. Not only did I not receive the fresh water pearls, I was sent the incorrect amount of replacement beads.

To say I'm disappointed is probably an understatement, but hopefully the matter can be sorted and I'll be blogging to show you the 59 pearls I DID receive eventually.

My First Online Beads purchase from www.beadshop.co.za

So lately I've been checking out buying beads online and I found a fantastic site called BeadShop. It is a beads shop based in Melville, JHB but they sell other trinkets besides beads, e.g. wire, hemp, etc.

I placed an order the second last week of March and ONE WEEK later this place had my small order delivered – now that is what I call FANTASTIC service.

The ladies who phoned me and emailed me my invoices were very polite and they really have their things in order there for sure!

They aren't very expensive. You might initially think so but when you receive your package, you'll understand that they are FAR from expensive.

I ordered TWO 500g packets of beads = 1kg of beads for only R50 – BARGAIN!

They also regularly have specials on their products so definitely sign up so that you can stay updated with them. I sure have!

Here is examples of the beads I bought (not the packets they came in, the actual beads):

Pearl Purple Beads.

Beads from beadshop.co.za The clear beads were very difficult to photograph so I tried my best with a flash photograph, but I'm sure you do know what CLEAR beads look like.

So if you want to buy beads in what I like to call bulk, sign up with BeadShop! You won't regret it!!

Thanks for the GREAT service AND beads BeadShop!!!

Free Beads from WholePort

Quite a few months ago I received my regular newsletter from Christine [Click on her name for her website] and she was telling us about this Free Sample Gifting Project by WholePort.

Basically you sign up and they will send you a little package of free beads to introduce you to their company and products.

I was a bit skeptical at first but I decided to email the company for information about their project and company. After signing up I found myself VERY excited to recieve my little package.

About 2 months later, this is what I received:

Beads from Whole Port

The beads AND stunning black lace fabric with embroidered pink flowers.

Beads from Whole Port

All the beads.

Beads from Whole Port

A close up of the shell beads as well as wooded printed beads.

Beads from Whole Port

Silver metal beads with stunning detail.

Close up of the gold glass beads, a little black bead with detailing and the flat wooden beads.

I didn't have any specifications for them so they surprised me with the most stunning little package I could have ever dreamed of. This company had me spot on for what I'd like!

Not only are the beads absolutely breath taking (to me) I can't wait to make something with them!

I think it is a stunning project to have undertaken by WholePort and I am ever so grateful that I could participate in it! They will definitely have my eyes glued on their products if this is the type of beads they sell!

Thank you WholePort!!
